Hotel - 1922 - 1924: Designed by Weeks & Day, the 12-story Georgian red-brick building opened as luxury apartments named for railroad baron Collis P. Huntington, whose nearby Nob Hill mansion was destroyed in 1906.
Big 4 - 1976: Opened inside Nob Hill's Huntington Hotel, named for 19th-century railroad tycoons Collis Huntington, Leland Stanford, Mark Hopkins, and Charles Crocker. Designed like a vintage club with dark mahogany paneling, green leather booths, and a rich collection of original California railroad artifacts and historic photos.
2026: The Hotel and Big 4 reopened after an exstensive 3 year restoration.
